I decided to do a traditional Dutch still life composition that is an Americanized contemporary version and to fully paint the food items in vibrant colours. By doing this, it brings a bit of absurdity to the composition, but it also makes the ingredients look plastic. In brief, this work is an exploration of colours and how they interact, while making a commentary on our food consumption and how our food is slowly getting more laced with toxic components.
