Times: Paintings

This painting series is a photo-based project that employs photorealism techniques as its main approach. Each painting is accompanied with the time that the reference image was taken at. This aims to convey the way that I organize my memories and my lived experiences in my brain. I have the capacity to organize those moments to the year, the month, the day and even sometimes the time of day that they occurred. Painting those moments is a way to work on the aspect that when you remember memories, they change over time on and on again. This aims to open a dialogue in between the nature of photography that captures the reality of the moment, while still talking about how our brain can trick our perception of that reality. The contents of these paintings can vary drastically from very mundane subjects and scenes to very glamorized and extraordinary events.
